How is the image of a country formed in the world? How can you work to influence such public opinions and familiarize people with the culture, traditions, and values your country supports? The answer is public diplomacy.
America House Lviv, as well as America Houses in Kyiv and Odesa, is a part of such global American Spaces network – a public diplomacy tool connecting the world with the United States. With nearly 600 locations worldwide, the network has over a hundred years of history.
Next Monday, March 20th, at 5 PM Kyiv time, we will have a fruitful conversation with Dr. Cynthia Nichols, a Regional Public Engagement Specialist at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, who supervises the American Spaces in Ukraine and Moldova. Cynthia will uncover the principles and mechanisms of U.S. diplomacy and examine the processes and challenges of decision-making related to foreign affairs.
Solomiya Borshosh, an Executive Director of the Ukrainian Institute, will be moderating the discussion. She has worked at the intersection of international relations, development, and civil society for over 14 years. And now, she is on the team which promotes better knowledge and understanding of Ukraine internationally and develops cultural relations between Ukraine and other countries.
