  • America House Lviv 2 Akademika Hnatyuka Street L'viv, L'vivs'ka oblast, 79000 Ukraine (map)

In challenges of past and future, what is common and what is different for those on different continents, but under the same skies?

America House Kyiv is launching the Threads | Ukraine-Taiwan virtual program: a series of public talks that will explore common threads between the two cultures, their histories and paths of transformation, together with experts from Ukraine and Taiwan.

Join us on Monday, March 20, to explore contemporary Taiwan-Ukraine relations with Oleksandr Shyn, founder of Ukrainian Voices in Taiwan, Khrystyna Rybachok, Ukrainian reformer and specialist in public policy, and Aurora Chang, an organizer of Taiwan Stands with Ukraine. During the session, we will cover the following:

📎 Introduction to Taiwan: its geography, history and current situation;
📎 Strengthening ties and foreign relations between Ukraine and Taiwan;
📎 Taiwan Stands with Ukraine: understanding how and why Taiwanese are backing Ukraine's struggle for freedom;
📎 Lessons and takeaways from Ukraine and Taiwan's societal transformations.

Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your horizons and engage with the global community.

📍This event will be live-streamed to America House Kyiv and America House Odesa Facebook pages, as well as America House Kyiv (https://bit.ly/3TlaEl9) and America House Lviv (https://bit.ly/3ZO4UD3) YouTube pages in English.
📍 Date and time: March 20, 6 PM Kyiv time/ 12 AM Taipei time.

Threads | Ukraine-Taiwan is a series of virtual events aimed to bring Ukraine and Taiwan closer while educating young leaders about the historical roots and today’s perspectives from both sides. Each session will explore different topics such as change-making, global media and communications, cultural identity and education, human rights, LGBTQI movements, and more.

The series is dedicated to the memory of Jonathan Tseng, a Taiwanese volunteer who joined the International Legion of Territorial Defence of Ukraine. He was the first soldier from East Asia to be killed in action during the Russia’s war against Ukraine.
